- A physical and lab test can be done, along with a pelvic exam to test for Trichomoniasis. It’s very difficult to detect in men.
- Trichomoniasis can be cured with drugs.
- A person is not immune to this disease once treated.
Symptoms
- Women- can have frothy yellow-green vaginal discharge with an odor. Signs can also be discomfort during urination or intercourse, vaginal irritation and itching, or abdomen pain.
- Men- usually will not show symptoms. Temporary irritation of the penis, discharge, or slight burning when urinating or ejaculating can happen.
Damage
- Women- can increase the chance of getting HIV and giving it to her partner.
- Men- same as women.
