Marriage

Marriage is not something to be taken lightly and to marry simply just because of a pregnancy is not always the best solution. Much thought and discussion should take place before jumping into a lifelong commitment. But also don’t rule out the option just because someone else might not think it is a good idea. Discussing this with your partner and asking people you trust about this possibility is a good start.

Getting married means that your baby has the benefit of a two parent family. In cases of separation, mothers who were married are often more successful in establishing child support and paternal grandparent involvement than the non-married. Of course marriage requires that both individuals want to be joined in this union.

Our mentors can help you and the father of the baby explore the option of marriage and benefits it can bring to your lives.
